‘Haazir’ delves into the profound and deeply personal themes of loss, grief, and the journey of bereavement. Moving to the UK provided me with the mental space and the solace to revisit and process an almost decade old emotion that was unconfronted all along.
Through psychogeography and documentation, Umbhoray invites viewers on a journey of the process of navigating grief caused by the loss of a sibling. This visual diary intends to transform intangible feelings into tangible, evocative images, involving psychogeography. Haazir stands to be a collection of film photographs and digital photographs, and family archives in further development, where the landscapes are a photo-therapeutic outcome of feeling His presence while understanding grief.
Umbhoray's art invites viewers to connect with the universal experiences of loss, memory and bereavement. Through my visual narratives, she aspires to offer solace, understanding, and a sense of shared humanity to those who encounter my work.
